Germany Winter 2007

On our way to Poland to spend Christmas with our relatives we took several breaks. No wonder, the trip to Poland usually takes 8 hours, therefore my Dad, who drove the car, needed some break...However, we never use guest houses at the motorway - instead we prefer woody places where no one else is.
I had no problems with taking a break after seeing this beautiful winter wonderland scenery. These photos were taken in East Germany...

Dziwnówek

I've found some photos from our trip to Poland over Christmas 2006. I visited my relatives in Poland. On December 25th we made a trip to Dziwnówek, a town at the Baltic coast, which is just 100km from Szczecin (where my relatives live).
The atmosphere at the ocean was marvellous. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it to the ocean last year.

After a time there was no living soul in front of us.

Capbreton
Finally by going further south the weather became warmer and sunnier. Unfortunately, we couldn't swim in the marvellous ocean because the waves were life-threatening huge. *sigh*
For those who are interested: The person in the green dress is me. :#>

Mimizan Plage

Unfortunately, the weather was bad over the whole week.
One day we decided to take a walk along the beach and so we ended up walking about 4 hours.

Endless Beach
Looking to our left...

looking to our right. You can still see our footsteps in the sand. We were the only ones at the beach. No living soul behind and infront of us. Quel atmosphère manifique.

Walking, walking, walking...

Spooky abandoned summer house...

France

One fine day in Biarritz
Originally we wanted to go to the beach as everyday but the rainy and cold weather forced us to forget about the beach...instead of sitting in our summer house we darted
off to Biarritz (not more than 40 min. by car from Hossegor).

By the time we arrived in Biarritz it was still cloudy but the rain stopped...

after a while it cleared up and we had a lovely day. By looking at the photos I'm really happy that we didn't go to the beach...:D

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.spot page.
The topic of this blog is travel, i.e. I'm going to post photos of the places I've been to.
In the summer I'm going to Greece in the area around Athens. I'm very looking forward to taking many photos showing how beautiful our world is.

Which makes me come to the purpose of this blog; it should stress the fact that our existence is not supposed to focus merely on success in university and job. In fact, I've got the impression that mankind concentrates too much on superficial things like media, money and success. It's like we all are caught in a cul-de-sac without realizing it.

This blog should provide an image how our world looks like outside this cul-de-sac. That there is more to life than our society's superficial ideals.
The undeniable fact is: The world and our lives are beautiful. The point is what each individual makes out of it.
